Decatur– Evelyn Y. Ball, 78, of Decatur, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:23 a.m., July 5, 2010, in her residence.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Moundford Free Methodist Church. Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday, in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Visitation will be from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening, July 10, 2010, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Memorials may be made to the Moundford Free Methodist Church. Evelyn was born November 9, 1931 in Decatur, the daughter of Bernard Eugene and Velma Lorene (German) Ritchard. She married Elmer O.Ball on January 29, 1954. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1997. She formerly worked as an operator for the Bell Telephone Company and then went on to work as an operator for St. Mary’s Hospital until her retirement. She was a life member of Moundford Free Methodist Church
Surviving is her daughter: Brenda Edwards of Naples, Florida: sons: Larry Ball and his wife Becky of Decatur, David Ball and his wife Celesta of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Dwight Ball of Decatur, Duane Ball and his wife Jennifer of St. Joseph, IL, Dan Ball and his wife Debbie of Argenta, Leland Ball and his wife Tracy of Lincoln; sister: Phyllis Kincaid and her husband Harry of Tremont, IL; brother: Robert Ritchard and his wife Sherry of Westminster, Colorado; Aunt: Joanne Frady and her husband Roy of Decatur; Best Friend: Ida Mae Campbell of Decatur; Seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Evelyn loved God, loved life, was an avid reader and loved everyone she knew.
